Collectivized Rights
Ayn Rand
Individuals need a moral code to survive.
A society is a group of individuals.
Societies need moral principles so that they can organize a system consistent with man's nature.
"What subjectivism is in the realm of ethics, collectivism is in the realm of politics" (Rand, 101).
Individuals are the only beings capable of having rights. The expression of 'collective rights' is a contradiction of terms.
A collective is a group of individuals and can only have the rights of the individuals who freely join the collective.
Joining a society neither provides nor negates rights of individuals.
